Job Description

Whether performing hospitality functions (greeting, reviewing rules, answering questions, taking photographs) or Game Master functions (running the game, interacting with the players, resetting the game) — your role is that of being an ambassador of the Morgantown Escape Room, giving every person an experience so fun that they can’t wait to rave about it to their friends and family!

As an ambassador, you are also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the game rooms and establishment. This includes weekly tasks such as sweeping/mopping/vacuuming the floors, dusting surfaces, cleaning mirrors/windows/sink/toilet, taking inventory, etc. and daily tasks, such as maintaining the cleanliness of the game and props, game master station, and guest waiting area.

Job Requirements

At our escape room, our foremost goal is providing excellent customer service and an over-the-top customer experience. We recognize the vital role a Game Master plays in the overall customer experience, and as such, we are very selective, and seeking out individuals who will aide in maintaining and further strengthening our reputation of excellence (which you can see in our Google reviews). We fully believe excellent team members produce excellent customer experiences and we are dedicated to only employing the best of the best!

We do ask that you only apply for the position if you plan to live in the area and be available year-round.

Hours & Pay

We are currently hiring for part-time positions (usually between 7-15 hours per week).

Starting pay is $10.00/hour with a $2.00/hour increase after successful completion of a 60-day training period (training may be done sooner – this depends on your personal comfort levels). There is also potential to earn additional bonuses every pay period when you help us receive 5-star reviews, as well as the chance to receive tips from happy customers.

Hours depend upon your availability combined with our game schedule and the availability of our other team members.

Our normal hours of operation are as follows (from clock in to clock out):
Monday through Thursday – 4:30 pm to 11:00 pm
Friday – 3:30 pm to 11:00 pm
Saturday – 11:00 am to 11:00 pm
Sunday – 11:30 am to 8:00 pm

Weekend availability is a must as these are our busiest days. 12 hour shifts on Saturdays are normal, but you will have a paid lunch break.

Schedules are created on a monthly basis. We’re super flexible and will work with you and your existing schedule to ensure you have any time off that you need. We also guarantee all major holidays off, unless you want to work that day.

This is a great job for high schoolers or college students that don’t have many of their own expenses and are looking for some work experience or a little bit of spending money each month.

Please understand before applying that THIS IS NOT A JOB FOR SOMEONE NEEDING A STEADY INCOME – your hours depend entirely on whether we have a game booked. No bookings = no coming in for work that day.

We do ask that you only apply for the position if you plan to live in the local area and be available year-round.
